1. Purpose
The KSL Player Cancellation & Clearance Policy governs all player withdrawals, deregistrations, and transfers out of the Kelvin Soccer League (KSL). This ensures fair treatment of players, clubs, sponsors, and the Ball Playa brand, while maintaining administrative and contractual integrity within the league.
2. Player Cancellation Overview
A registered KSL player may request to cancel their participation at any point during the active season. However, all cancellations are subject to administrative review and the payment of the applicable Player Cancellation Fee, which also serves as a Clearance Fee.
- The Player Cancellation Fee covers administrative, branding, and marketing costs associated with the player’s registration, content production, and licensing.
- Upon payment of the fee, the player will be issued a KSL Clearance Certificate, allowing freedom to join another club, league, or organization without restriction.
3. Standard Cancellation Process
Step 1: The player must complete and submit the official KSL Player Cancellation Form available on the KSL Portal.
Step 2: The request will be reviewed within 5 working days by the KSL Player Relations Office.
Step 3: If approved, the player will receive an invoice for the applicable Cancellation / Clearance Fee.
Step 4: Once payment is received, the player will be provided with a KSL Clearance Certificate via email and reflected on the player’s Ball Playa digital profile.
4. Cancellation / Clearance Fee
A registered KSL player may request to cancel their participation at any point during the active season. However, all cancellations are subject to administrative review and the payment of the applicable Player Cancellation Fee, which also serves as a Clearance Fee.
- The Community Player Cancellation and Clearance Fee is R250 (administrative processing only).
- The Semi-Pro Player Cancellation and Clearance Fee is R1000 (includes clearance and transfer documentation).
- The Pro Player Cancellation and Clearance Fee is R1000 (Includes digital profile release, media transfer and brand clearance).
Important:
- The fee is non-refundable and must be paid in full prior to clearance.
- Payment of this fee does not constitute a refund for unused match credits or apparel.
- The clearance certificate remains valid for 12 months from the date of issue.
5. Transfer & Brand Relations Clause
All registered KSL players are bound by the brand relations and transfer protocols established by Ball Playa, a brand owned and operated by Papkrast Group.
By registering and participating in the KSL, players acknowledge that:
- Any transfer, signing, or commercial engagement facilitated through exposure, performance, or media content created under the KSL shall be subject to the standard industry transfer fee, payable to Ball Playa (Papkrast Group).
- The KSL Clearance Certificate serves as formal release from all brand, image, and media rights held under the Ball Playa and KSL ecosystems.
- Players who exit the KSL without an official clearance certificate may face suspension from future Ball Playa–affiliated leagues or events.
6. Media, Branding & Content Ownership
All images, videos, interviews, and branded content created during a player’s participation in the KSL remain the property of Ball Playa and Papkrast Group.
Even after cancellation, such materials may continue to be used for archival, promotional, or educational purposes without additional consent or compensation.
7. Refunds & Exceptions
- Players withdrawing due to medical reasons may submit supporting documentation for partial fee consideration.
- KSL management reserves the right to waive or adjust cancellation fees at its discretion under exceptional circumstances.
- Refunds for match fees or products are not applicable after registration or participation.
8. Finality of Decision
All player cancellations are final once processed and approved.
Rejoining the KSL in the same or future season will require re-registration and payment of applicable registration or category fees.
